Buxton Town Hall

I had to get an early start for this painting. I chose a Sunday morning to paint this scene. The reason for the early start is that the view shown in the painting, very soon gets obscured by cars parked in front of the town hall by day trippers to the town. I worked fast as the crowds soon develop in this busy area of town. The weather in the Peak District also plays a part and is very changeable due to the height of the town. I painted this perched on the back bumper of my car, easel set up in front of me. It was a great place to paint as it created a lot of interest from passers by, who are always very supportive.
