Cretan Mountain View

This is one of my favourite views in the whole world. Painted from the river bridge just outside the village of Georgioupolis in North West, Crete. The painting was done as dusk approached. The White Mountains are at their best at this time of day. The river is full of life and birds including Kingfishers can be seen regularly, perched on the rushes by the river. The geese shown in the painting are always there. They can be seen heading for their meeting area for the night.
