Lake View, Pavillion Gardens, Buxton

With Buxton being a relatively small town, finding an original view in the town, whilst maintaining an interesting work of art is a real challenge. The painting I produced was from a steep banking beside the miniature railway which runs around the gardens. The weather was typical of the Peak District. It was cloudy and breezy. So much so, that I set my canvas up portrait to prevent the canvas being blown about in the wind. I was pleased with the finished painting which is oil on canvas 18" x 14".
