This scene is the most local of any of my paintings. It shows the lake and the trees on a bright warm April day. The Three Sisters were three large slag heaps which were remnants of the coal mining industry. Once the mines closed the land was transformed into a very attractive leisure area, which is very popular for walkers, cyclists and fishermen.
